Our take
The Rane System One is a joy to use for mixing without a laptop. The motorized jogwheels feel authentic and the touchscreen is responsive. I love the variety of onboard effects, from dub echo to pitch shifting, which let me get creative during sets. The RGB pads are great for triggering cues and loops. However, the 2-channel mixer might feel limiting for those used to 4-channel setups. Also, the 24-bit/48kHz audio is fine for most, but audiophiles might want higher resolution. Overall, it's a solid performer for mobile and club DJs.
