Our take
As a working DJ, the XDJ-XZ feels like a true flagship. The standalone capability means I can leave my laptop at home for many gigs, and the 4-channel mixer gives plenty of room for external sources. The 16 pads are responsive and the jog wheels have a nice, solid feel. However, I'm a bit disappointed by the 16-bit/48 kHz sampling rate—most competitors offer 24-bit now. Also, the price is steep, but for an all-in-one Pioneer system, it delivers on build and sound quality. Just be aware you're paying for the brand and ecosystem.
