Our take
I picked up the Rane System One with the Magma case, and I'm impressed with the build quality. The motorized jogwheels feel smooth and responsive, and Engine DJ OS runs without a hitch. Having 16 pads gives me plenty of flexibility for hot cues and loops. The bundled case is a nice bonus for transport. That said, the price is steep, and the 2-channel layout might feel limiting for DJs used to 4 decks. The lack of a dedicated software option could be a dealbreaker if you prefer Serato or Rekordbox. Overall, it's a solid standalone unit for mobile gigs where you want to leave the laptop at home.
